RCSI Registrar, Dr Claire Connolly, MB, BCh, BAO
Claire is originally from Co Armagh, Northern Ireland. She entered Medicine in University College Dublin in 2007. During her time in UCD Claire obtained a scholarship from the university in 2012 which allowed her to spend time in Lankaneau Medical Centre, a long time teaching and research hospital just outside of Philadelphia USA. Claire graduated from UCD in 2013 and began her internship in Waterford regional Hospital. Following this, she was began vocational GP training with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 2014. Claire has trained in various aspects of tertiary care including general and breast surgery, orthopaedics, respiratory medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, emergency medicine, psychiatry, palliative care, radiation oncology, and medicine for the elderly.
She has also worked in General practice in Dublin 2 and the Wiclow area.
Claire’s particular interests are in women’s health, preventative medicine and dermatology. Claire currently spends 1 morning a week working in a Dermatology Clinic in a Dublin hospital.
She is married and in her spare time enjoys hiking, travelling and keeping fit with zumba classes.
